Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. CBD is one of over 100+ compounds found in cannabis that belong to a class of molecules called cannabinoids. Unlike its infamous cousin THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is non-psychotropic. Meaning, it does not cause a “high.”
